Free postal entry route

Under UK law, every competition on Clear Competitions includes a free entry route by post. Free postal entries have the same chance of winning as paid entries, provided they meet the requirements below and arrive before the competition closes.

Please read our Terms & Conditions before entering by post or online. You must be 18 or over and a UK resident to enter.

Before you send a postcard

To enter by post you must:

  1. Register for an account on Clear Competitions before posting your entry. Postal entries can only be processed against an active account.
  2. Choose the competition you wish to enter and note the correct answer to the skill-based question shown on that competition page.
  3. Prepare one entry per postcard or letter — bulk or combined entries in a single envelope will be counted as one entry only.

What to include on your postcard or letter

Send your entry by first or second class pre-paid post on a postcard or in an unsealed envelope (standard letter). Hand-delivered entries will not be accepted.

Each entry must clearly state:

  • The name of the competition you are entering;
  • Your answer to the competition question (skill-based question for that draw);
  • Your full name;
  • Your date of birth;
  • Your postal address;
  • Your email address registered on your account;
  • One contact telephone number.

All details must be typed or written clearly. We cannot process entries that are illegible or incomplete. Details on your postcard must match the name and address on your website account.

Important rules

  • One entry per postcard or letter. Multiple entries must be sent separately. Entries bundled in one envelope count as a single entry.
  • No bulk postal entries will be accepted.
  • No hand-delivered entries through a letterbox or office drop-off.
  • Entries must be received before the closing date and time stated on the competition page (London, UK time).
  • Proof of posting does not guarantee entry if the item arrives late or does not meet these criteria.
  • If we believe one person is attempting to enter using multiple identities or addresses, associated entries may be voided, as with paid entries.
  • You must have an active account when postal entries are processed.
  • We will not acknowledge receipt of postal entries or confirm whether your answer is correct.

After we receive your entry

Valid postal entries are entered into the same draw as paid tickets. Winners are chosen at random (including live draws on our official channels where advertised) within the timeframe stated in our Terms & Conditions.
